Mr Produktions (Plankton, as he is known to his several friends, or Nick Gilbert, in legal circles) was born in Bristol in 1964. He has been, at various times, a film student (Polytechnic of Central London, Bristol University and National Film School) actor, DJ (DJ Plankton) journalist, book reviewer, slacker, professional layabout (which is not the same as a slacker) assistant editor on countless documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4 and, since the turn of the millenium, a teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Plankton has written half a dozen thus-far unproduced film scripts, two unfinished novels, a post-modern non-autobiography (68½: Movies, Manson & Me) and a series of abusive letters to David Puttnam, whom Plankton considers to represent one third of an Axis of Evil completed by Tony Bliar and Jamie Oliver.
He has travelled extensively in North and South Bristol, parts of London, a bit of Spain and some of South America. In 2016, he hit upon the idea of bequeathing his modest body of work (past, present and future) to a wider audience, FREE OF CHARGE, and thus was Plankton Produktions The Website born.
Rock on, Tommy!
